What Is Essex MAFVA?

We are a sub-branch of the Miniature Armoured Fighting Vehicle Association (MAFVA); a UK-based modeller's organisation established more than 40 years ago. Essex is one of more than a dozen similarly affiliated clubs spread across the UK.

We all build tanks and other armoured vehicles as well military transport, figures and dioramas from World War I right up to the present day. Some of our members also make aircraft, ships, model trains and even sci-fi models too.

We meet every month in Hornchurch while all of the MAFVA clubs get together each June at MAFVA's own National Show. This fantastic day out is held at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford; a venue well worth a visit if only to see their impressive display of static and running armoured vehicles.
